Florida Boards of Medicine Meeting

Mobilize with JAN to the Florida Boards of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine's Joint Rules/Legislative Committee meeting as it decides standards of care for gender-affirming care for Floridian trans children and adults.

The Florida Boards of Medicine and Osteopathic Medicine (the Boards) have played a critical role in restricting, and banning for some, gender-affirming care access in Florida. Transgender, nonbinary, and gender non-conforming folx have been forced to become experts in their care as they witness challenges to their access to life-saving care. There is hope, though! At prior meetings, moving testimony by folx has moved boardmembers to change course and adopt more reasonable (less unreasonable, really) standards of care - our voices matter! We will continue our advocacy for more reasonable, patient-centered rulemaking that preserves gender-affirming care access to the greatest extent.
